The Washington Center for Equitable Growth has an opening for an economist. We’re looking for a relatively recent Ph.D. with expertise in public finance, taxation, industrial organization, macroeconomics, or racial and gender inequality.
The job announcement is posted on our site here, and will also be up at Job Openings for Economists in the next few days. If you have students or others in your personal networks that might be interested, I’d be very grateful if you could share the announcement with them.
I’d also like to call your attention to two new innovations at Equitable Growth this year.
One is our Equitable Growth Working Paper series, which publishes work-in-progress by our in-house staff, grantees, Research Advisory Board members, and others in and outside of our broader network. We have posted both original working papers and, when relevant to our mission, papers that have already appeared in other series, including the NBER and IZA. If you have working papers of your own that you think might be a good fit, please let me know.
The second is our new monthly Equitable Growth Seminar series. The seminars give academic researchers —with a focus on our grantees— an opportunity to present new work to a Washington-based academic and policy audience. Where possible and when there is interest, we also attempt to arrange meetings between invitees and relevant policymakers and press. As with the working paper series, let me know if you might be interested in presenting your own work.
