The American Society of Hispanic Economists (ASHE) is pleased to announce that it is accepting applications for three awards:
1. the ASHE Dissertation Award,
2. the ASHE Teaching Award, and
3. the ASHE Service Award.
The ASHE Dissertation Award provides a $1,000 stipend to defray the costs of attending the 2025 ASSA meetings to a recently minted Ph.D. in Economics or a closely related field who shows promise of future achievement as a scholar and/or teacher. The award recipient also receives the opportunity to have a paper reviewed by an ASHE Board member, a one-year ASHE membership, and a one-year membership to the American Economic Association. The ASHE Teaching Award recognizes an ASHE member who has made significant contributions in line with the goals of ASHE through teaching, advising, or mentoring Hispanic students, minority students, or students in general. The ASHE Service Award recognizes an ASHE member (individual or institution) who has made a significant contribution in line with the goals of ASHE through service to ASHE, the U.S. Hispanic community, U.S. communities of color, or the U.S. society in general. All application materials must be submitted by September 15, 2024, 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time for full consideration.
All award recipients will be recognized at the annual ASHE Board meeting scheduled to take place at the 2025 ASSA meetings.
